About Us !
At Le Pors Cattery
I have had cats all my life, most of them rescues from shelters or street cats with no homes. I purchased my first purebreed cat almost three years ago. He's an American Shorthair, Brown Classic Tabby. I had great pleasure showing him in Nova Scotia and Québec. He is a CFA Premier and ACFA Grand Champion. He won eleventh Best Alter and Best American Shorthair Alter  in 2003 (ACFA). I was now hooked.

I belong to two cat clubs in the area: The Bluenose Cat Club (ACFA) and The Nova Scotia Cat Fanciers (CFA). All my cats are also registered CCA. I wanted to start a breeding programme of my own and chose the Scottish Fold for their rarety and temperament. They have sweet personnalities. As you may have read in breed description, all Scottish Folds are descendants of Rosie, a barn cat found in Scotland who was born naturally with folded ears.

Where does Le Pors come from. My father immigrated from France to Canada almost 40 years ago, but I do still have lots of family accross the ocean. Le Pors is the name of my great-grandmother's house located in Lampaul-Guimiliau, France. It's an old farmhouse built of stone that has always fascinated me as a child.

At Le Pors, we always breed one strait ear cat to a folded ear cat. Only 40% of kittens born fold, hence the rarety of the Scottish Fold.
